Great hotel in a central location, lovely clean room with plenty of space but breakfast was disappointing as a full English breakfast was not on offer.
Staff great,cosy,comfy lounge
Great location. Hotel is modern and the rooms are very comfortable Excellent value for money
Lovely hotel and staff had a nice stay, was kindly upgraded to a superior suite on the 12th floor which was nice, however it was very very warm and the air con did not seem to work, it wasn’t until late in the night we realised and there was no phone to call reception and we didn’t want to have to travel down and complain as it was only one night stay so would have been pointless moving. However other than that had a great time, lovely view and hotel :)

The location of the place is great, bed was comfortable and room was spacious.
Excellent all round, from staff to value for money. Would definitely visit again.
This is our second time staying in a motel one. Excellent experience. Rooms nice and big clean. Central location. Deducted a point as the pillows weren't super comfy but could be personal taste. All the staff where polite upbeat and helpful. I am dairy intolerant but was so happy to see lots of dairy free choices at breakfast. Would highly recommend.
We booked the hotel because of its location ( across the road from the Central Hotel). It also had the bonus of being in an area with plenty of restaurants. The reception staff were great. Very friendly and helpful whilst managing to get the people through booking in quickly. The room was very clean, the bed was one of the most comfortable mattresses I have slept on. Space in the room was a bit limited, but it was a king size bed, for the price and the comfort well worth it. Breakfast was continental style, the fresh bread and pastry was fantastic. The selection of meats and cheese was good. Overall a great night at a great price.
Great
Stayed here a few times due to proximity to train station but not sure it would be my first choice now. On the plus side the hotel is clean and modern yet reasonably priced unless there’s an event on and prices are bumped up. The main issue with the rooms is that the bed and chair are far too low and it’s actually put me off booking in future. It is even an issue in the accessible rooms, which have the same beds and chairs as normal rooms. This isn’t great for guests who have mobility issues with getting in and out of chairs. It’s great to have a raised toilet seat in the bathroom but doesn’t make sense for low seats and beds in the bedrooms. On my last stay the tv and air con wasn’t working so I had a 12th floor room that was like a sauna. I’ve found that if you attempt to check in earlier than 3pm it very much depends on the mood of the reception staff. Sometimes there’s no issue, but recently I’ve been told they’re not offering early check in, even if it’s only an hour early. Or the staff member reluctantly checks me in early but reminds me that the policy is 3pm… if there are rooms available then not sure why it’s such an issue to arrive earlier. A decent budget hotel that could be a lot better with a few adjustments.
I've stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions over the past couple of years and always been very pleased with the standard of accommodation and service. On this occasion (Saturday 28 Dec) we were passing through Glasgow with family and booked three rooms. These included #202 and #204. These two rooms apparently overlook a nightclub, which closed at 4.00am on Sunday morning. Because we were travelling early the next morning we'd gone to bed before 10.00pm. The constant music from below meant that by 2.00am we were still wide awake. I went to reception to ask if we could change rooms. None were available. Your colleagues were all very apologetic (and quite embarrassed at the need to explain) about the noise and said that the club, while not open every night, does quite often cause problems for your guests in rooms which overlook it. I fully understand that there is very little you can do to control noise from adjacent premises. However I think you are being very disingenuous to take a booking (at a price £139 per room!) without advising customers beforehand of the potential for a sleepless night. At the very least, a heavily discounted room rate, advanced notice of the problem and a pack of ear-plugs should have been provided. As you can see from the ratings of other aspects, your hotel is otherwise very good. However, the danger of a repetition of this problem will keep me away, certainly on weekend evenings.
Room was outstanding for the price paid. Staff were friendly and helpful
The Staff were very helpful to me in signing in and had to stay an other night . Room was very neat and tidy and shower clean and tidy . I dident have wi fi on my phone.
Room was compact, Fire alarm set off in the middle of the night, had to evacuate.
Staff on the desk were superb. Friendly and knowledgeable, a real Credit to place. Rooms were comfortable. And everything you needed. Can’t fault it at all. Will definitely be back in future.
Friendly helpful staff. Clean comfortable room.
Central, clean, easy access.
Nice and clean , staff helpful
Enjoyed our stay. Rooms spotless and warm. Liked tea making opportunity. Location perfect for shopping. We had a little time out in the street at night. We think due to someone smoking in room and maybe felt in this day and age of computers maybe this could have been pinpointed quicker but none the less it made for a good story. Would definately stay there again.
A beautiful hotel in a perfect location. Fantastic, efficient and highly professional staff. A wonderful bar that provides for all. Beautiful rooms with superb bed that you don't want to get out of. Overall an excellent experience.
We certainly will be returning, clean and very central, only problem that we had was with the door entry 847
Warm welcome, early access to room, beautiful and clean, comfortable bed, good shower, nice toiletries, staff are fabulous, 100% would stay again.
Reception staff were lovely. Lobby was really cleans and cosy. Room on the small side but clean and perfect for what we needed. Considering it was Glasgow city centre it was very quiet so I think soundproofing was good. The only reason I haven’t given 10 is because the bar tender was so rude to the point of obnoxious. The bar was littered with dirty glasses and he glared at me while I ordered a few drinks. My stay was very reasonably priced so I know the drinks must upsell for the business so maybe the bartender wants some customer service lessons! Otherwise highly recommended
This is my second time staying here and again enjoyed it ,The staff are really friendly and so helpful, I have all ready booked again before I left as it is such a lovely hotel 🙂
Fantastic hotel. Lovely staff and ultra comfy pillows. Definitely stay again.
Absolutely brilliant from start to finish, easy fast check in,room was lovely ,all of the staff were excellent very helpful, the whole hotel is spotless at all times cleaned to high standards,I will return soon as my daughter and I had a lovely stay and enjoyed the Xmas markets and because hotel is so central we could go shopping take stuff back to room and out again which we done a few times, excellent hotel.
Great location, reasonably priced. Comfortable and quiet rooms, considering where the Hotel is based. We will be back.
Great value hotel in the centre of Glasgow which we have stayed at on a number of occasions. There is always friendly and helpful service at reception and the rooms are always clean and comfortable with everything you need. I love that they offer free cancellation up until the day of your stay.
Really helpful, friendly staff. No query was a bother! Rooms were clean and lovely- I will say we found it rather chilly in the room until we discovered the thermostat and within minutes of adjusting it it was perfect :) would 100% stay again, beautiful experience. I have to add, the only downfall was the shower gave off an awful high pitched noise. Beautiful waterfall shower head and gorgeous temperature, but the whole relaxing experience was ruined with the screeching coming from the shower
Always a pleasure to stay at MotelOne. The hotel is managed with the comfort of staff as a priority. The modern decor and amenities are first class. MotelOne is located close to Central Station, most convenient for patrons travelling to Glasgow.
Shower hose disconnected so unable to wash and reception staff didn’t seem to care. Very dissapointing
My first stay at a Motel One and it was delightful. Clean rooms, friendly staff and quiet(ish) - my room was above an area where dance music was being played but it really didn't bother me too much.
This was our 4th visit to this hotel. Rooms are small but have everything you need. Everywhere is spotless and the staff are very pleasant and helpful, except when we needed the use of an iron. There was one available to use, however we had to go down to reception to collect the iron and the board and carry it upstairs. I feel that a member of staff should bring it to your room and take it away again. We always book this hotel as it's in the heart of the city and right next to Central Station; the only downside of this is that if you like to sleep with your window open at night for fresh air, it is very noisy outside with traffic, trains, people in the street. The windows when closed however do block out all that noise. The bar and lounge area are very relaxing for a coffee during the day or a drink in the evening. I would definitely use Motel One again. 🤗
Hotel was nice central to all amenities,
Excellent hotel situated in a very central location. Extremely quiet with comfortable beds & good facilities. Have stayed several times at this hotel & would certainly stay again in the future.
Perfect location, clean, very comfy bed and friendly, helpful staff
I had a lovely stay and the staff were very helpful :)
Having stayed here many times before I was just a little bit disappointed with my room being on the 11th floor as I always have as lower floor possible. The door to the room wasn't very secure and the television was missing some channels. But saying that I have always enjoyed my stay of either 3 or 4 nights.
Card issues on arrival, uncoordinated with hotel sales details
Really good hotel have stayed here a few times and it’s always great, very clean and comfy beds, our room was very spacious with a really good view the only suggestion I would make is for the tvs to be smart tvs as you can’t steam anything from them and the choice of channels is limited, it didn’t bother us during the day but at night it would have been nice to put something on
Really lovely young lady at check was very pleasant, polite and friendly, giving a great first impression of stay. Hotel is in a central location and the price for the stay was very good value
Really pleasant if short stay. Great location- Room clean & functional- really appreciated being allowed to check in early on a cold windy Sunday. Receptionist ? Kayleigh was particularly helpful, friendly and a complete professional.
Great service and brilliant rooms. Only small issue I had is that there was only 2-3 channels on the TV. Apart from that everything was spot on
Great hotel near where we needed to be very helpful
Conveniently located, gorgeous interiors. Staff were very friendly and helpful! Room was impeccably clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again, thank you.
Beautiful bar and lounge area. Great shower and comfortable bed. But no hair dryers in the room, which would be handy to have. My daughter and I will be back x
All is perfect
Lovely stay, room was upgraded as it was my birthday, nice touch. We have stayed here before, only thing I ask for that there never is in the room is decaf tea bags however after my first stay I just asked the barman and he always gives me a couple.

Six reasons why you need to visit Glasgow
Evergreen
The name Glasgow comes from Gaelic and means ‘dear green place’ – more than 90 parks and gardens, such as Pollock Country Park and Kelvingrove Park, are open to the public and are perfect for taking a walk or simply relaxing.
Active
There’s something on offer every day of the year here, from festivals to football matches, art-house cinema to comedy clubs. The music scene in particular is second to none, no matter whether you’re into jazz, hip hop, electro or classical. Designated by UNESCO as a City of Music, it’s not for nothing that Glasgow is home to one of the world’s most sold-out concert locations (The OVO Hydro), which hosts a constant stream of superstars. You can also discover up-and-coming musicians in bars such as King Tut’s or Nice ‘n’ Sleazy. And you can find the Scottish Opera, the National Ballet and the National Theatre here – not to mention the World Pipe Band Championships, which involve nothing less than the world championship title for bagpipes!
Wonderful(ly cheap)
The city has more than 20 museums and galleries, as well as numerous other sights, many of which have free admission – such as the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, which contains one of Europe’s largest art collections, the Gallery of Modern Art, Glasgow’s St Mungo’s Cathedral and the Botanic Gardens.
Varied
From climbing in a Gothic church to wakeboarding or winter sports in summer – Glasgow has much more than simply sightseeing to offer. Loch Lomond is also only around 40 minutes out of the city; you can explore the national park on foot, by boat or on horseback. Gourmands can examine the production of Scotland’s national drink by visiting one of the many whisky distilleries, such as the Clydeside Distillery in the middle of the city or the Glengoyne Distillery during a day trip out into the Highlands.
Spruced up
You might see an oversized panda just outside the front door, or an astronaut along the street: Glasgow has transformed into a real mecca for street art. You can discover some of the best artworks by taking a walk along the Mural Trail.
Appetising
Finnieston, in the west of the city, is Glasgow’s designated foodie district. There’s something to suit every taste, from young and cool locations to award-winning gourmet restaurants. By the way, Glasgow is also the UK’s most vegan-friendly city! It’s also got a thriving bar scene: things are no longer simply all about the (still delicious) whisky. Independent breweries have helped to establish craft beers, while juniper fans can look forward to specialised gin bars such as Gin71.

A journey studded with design
We have packed everything we need for the styling concept of our Motel One Glasgow: Get on board and enjoy the ride!
Railway Romance meets design
Situated immediately next to Glasgow Central Station, our affordable design hotel is dedicated to railway romance. The Motel One Glasgow combines the industrial character of train and rail technology with the special sense of adventure that accompanies a journey by train. Be inspired by the detailed artworks by Scottish photography duo Matthew Dalziel and Louise Scullion and take an exciting trip through the history of trains.
Our employees are busy operating the switches behind the reception to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Wireflow lights by Vibia are reminiscent of the shape of tracks and railroad switches. Our One Lounge is also electrifying: the Spectre design suspended luminaires by Quasar create a visual reference to high-voltage power cables, and you can read the timetable for the Central Station on an infoscreen mounted on the stone wall. If you’d like to experience an antique train compartment for yourself, take a seat on the quilted benches.
Shelves and tables transport you to Glasgow’s industrial past with high-quality brass fittings, while Aldo Bernardi wall lamps round off the design concept. The bar takes a more rustic approach: enjoy a view of Dalziel and Scullion’s amazing photography as you sit at the genuine wooden counter and channel the excitement of travelling by train.
Whether you visit us by train, plane or car, you can take advantage of the same comfortable box-spring beds, extensive breakfast buffet and free WiFi in our affordable design hotel that you have come to expect from Motel One. Situated immediately next to Glasgow Central Station, the hotel is not only highly accessible by public transport, it is also the ideal starting point for exploring sights like the Gallery of Modern Art, City Chambers and Glasgow Cathedral. Full steam ahead!
